Stewardship

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Luke 12:34

Stewardship begins and ends with the understanding of God’s ownership of all. Stewardship is how we care for the gifts that God has given us. It includes taking care of other people, our environment and ourselves. To further our understanding, Grace-St. Paul’s will be involved with an exciting new stewardship program titled “Bearing Fruit for Jesus! His Grace and Power at Work within You.”

Here at Grace-St. Paul’s Church, we believe that stewardship is a three-fold ministry. Often, stewardship is described as our pledge or our financial commitment to the church. But we believe that our stewardship is measured just as importantly in terms of our time and talent. Our time, our talents and our treasure are all created by God and given to us.

We believe in faith that “God created the heavens and the earth” and that in so doing God created time itself.

We also believe in faith that God created each of us in our uniqueness and that in so doing imparted to us special talents that make us who we are. Our time and our talents are gifts from God.

As with our treasure, which is also a gift from God, we are called to give our time and talent back to God in thankfulness to carry out our mission and ministry as individuals and as a church to fulfill Jesus’ commandment to love God and our neighbor as ourselves.

So we are called to use our time, our talents and our treasure in ministry within the church and beyond. The measure of our giving is proportionate. The more we have received, the greater is to be our gift. Consider your own time, talents and treasure in light of these words and reflect on how you express your thankfulness to God in terms of what you devote to the ministries at Grace-St. Paul’s Church. Remember each of us is called to give to the best of our ability and to do so in recognition of the special gifts we have been given.

Your pledge to support the mission of Grace-St. Paul’s Church is vital to moving our community forward. We invite you to prayerfully consider your level of support to help fulfill the mission of Grace-St. Paul’s Church.
