“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
Prayers, both petitions and thanksgivings, are offered daily by members of our Prayer Chain and in the Prayers of the People in Sunday worship, based on requests.
What types of prayer requests are made to the Prayer Chain?
Prayers of thanksgiving and joy are welcomed in addition to those of supplication. Prayers may be requested for specific individuals in the church, their families, co-workers, friends and neighbors. Requests may be made on behalf of the larger community, the nation, or the world. Whatever burdens or joys are on one’s heart are burdens and joys the Prayer Chain will share with you in prayer. This is the promise of the Prayer Chain team.
How long does a prayer request stay on the prayer list?
Prayer requests remain active for 30 days. Long-term requests may be made.
How does the Prayer Chain work?
There are several ways a prayer request can be submitted to the Prayer Chain.
- Complete a prayer request form located in the Church narthex and place the request in the box also in the narthex labeled “Prayer Requests.” A member of the Prayer Chain routinely checks this box for requests.
- Call a member of the Prayer Chain, or the Parish Office (609) 586-6004.
- Complete the online prayer request form, which is delivered to the Priest-in-Charge’s email inbox. The form can be obtained by clicking here.
Once a prayer request is received from any of these sources, all Prayer Chain members are notified via email or phone call, and the prayers begin!
Note that only first names are required. Identifying the full name is optional.
What if my prayer request is confidential?
Requests may be noted as confidential. If so, the name of the person or family being prayed for remains known to the Prayer Chain members only; confidentiality is maintained by placing those prayer requests on a “private” list.
The first names of the other individuals on the prayer list are published in the Sunday bulletin so the congregation can join in the prayers.
How can I join the Prayer Chain ministry?
The Prayer Chain is always open to new members. If you believe you have a calling from God to pray daily for those in need, you may contact the Prayer Chain liaison by calling the Parish Office at (609) 586-6004 or sending an email to email@example.com
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
