Everything that we are asked to do, we do to show our love of one another.
Greetings to you all!
This is a letter that I have been waiting (sometimes patiently, sometimes not) to write for months now. We have received approval to reopen our doors and begin in person services again at Grace-St Paul’s! And while this is only the first step in our gradual transition, it is still an exciting one. Many of us have gathered weekly on Zoom to continue to worship together. Some have diligently attended worship streamed from other locations. Some have continued to pray on their own in our homes. But now it is time to begin to reconnect with one another in ways that are different yet familiar.
Our first day of gathering will be Sunday, June 28th. Our order of services will be:
8 am – Morning Prayer (in the church)
10 am – Morning Prayer (on Zoom)
5:30 pm – Evening Prayer (outside on the church grounds, weather permitting*)
As we begin the small steps, I’d like to give a HUGE shout out to our Vestry who have been diligently working hard to meet the guidelines of the diocese. They have inwardly digested the 34 page report, made excellent decisions, submitted a report of our own, and gotten approval. Also, another huge shout out to our deacon, Tom, and our recent seminary graduate Mike for their diligence in guaranteeing strong connections through worship, discussions, etc. And finally the biggest “thank you” goes to you who have stuck together through this unusual change, focusing on the most important thing that we are called to do – praise God in every way that we can.
Over the next few days, you will receive information about the specifics for the in person services. I ask that you read them and consider what you need to do to make our gatherings happen. Base your personal decision of which service to attend on the level of comfort you are currently feeling.
*If the weather doesn’t allow for outdoor worship the 5:30 service will be held on zoom.
God bless us all in this new phase of worship!
